Why it is important to eat healthy

A well-balanced diet along with physical activity is the foundation of good health. Healthy eating includes consuming high-quality proteins, carbohydrates, heart-healthy fats, vitamins, minerals and water in the foods you take in while minimizing processed foods, saturated fats and alcohol. Eating in this manner helps to maintain the body’s everyday functions, promotes optimal body weight and can assist in disease prevention.

Catering in secondary schools plays an important role not only in the development and growth of the students, but also in maintaining health. The quality of nutrition directly affects the learning effectiveness and as a result the quality of education. Therefore, it is important to build the right nutrition system in educational institutions. In this regard, it is our mission to explain young people what the quality choice is and what they gain by making the right choice when eating.

What is Quality Choice?

Quality choice means choosing a product that is safe and harmless to health. To make a quality choice, it is necessary to be conscious when choosing a product and taking into account all its harmful and useful properties for the human body.

Often we don’t think about what we eat, especially if a bad diet has become a habit. That’s why it is essential to teach children healthy eating habits since childhood. When they go to the store they need to pay attention to the expiration date, composition, and manufacturer, to make sure that this product is safe and reliable. Or during school breaks, give preference not to snack with chips or chocolate bars, but to something naturally like fruits or cereals.
Eating well is fundamental to health and well-being. Healthy eating helps us to maintain a healthy weight and reduces our risk of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and some form of cancer.

Acts have been adopted in our country

A number of legislative acts have been adopted in our country, creating a solid legal foundation for eliminating cases of malnutrition in public places, including educational institutions. In particular, the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 29, 2015 “ON THE APPROVAL OF THE CONCEPT AND THE COMPLEX OF MEASURES FOR SECURING A HEALTHY NUTRITION OF THE POPULATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN FOR THE PERIOD OF 2015-2020” plays an important role in this matter.
